OK I think we've finally tracked down this annoying aggro bug
where you do not do anything aggressive (after already being
aggressive) and your timer continues to go up. Thanks to the
other wizards (mainly Elessar) who worked to track this down.
This was a hard bug to find and included many different subsystems
so it MIGHT NOT BE FIXED. I need you guys to test it out - and
no I won't refund your experience if you die because of it :)
The basic bug I THINK is that in these PK fights someone runs away
from you and you start hunting them. Then, when they summon you
back into the room (or someone you get in the room with them again)
you attempt to get hunting hits on them, or at least the hunting
system initializes. Basically, this action is only supposed to
make you aggro if you do an active skill. You can smack someone
with combat hits but if you blast them, well, then that's an
aggressive action. The bit of code that added a quit timer to you
wasn't checking correctly or not with the hunting system.
As usual, a 7 character change but took a few hours to find it.
To help us all debug and help a little bit during these PK fights
you will now see a nice **** MESSAGE **** saying you received an
increase to your quit timer. LOOK FOR THESE! If you see these
when you think you shouldn't then log and send me these logs
via email. If I had these messages in all the logs I've been
looking through it would have made it a lot easier - and similarly
if this bug persists it will help us track it down more so.
