  • Tsunami Newsletter [ Issue #4 - September 2009 ]

Well, it's been a while since we last reported, so there's a lot to tell you!

    [ Class Changes ]

    Mages:

    • Chaitan has spent alot of time and effort on Wu-Jen, and there was a general overhaul of the class.
    • There are now 7 sphere levels instead of 6 for Wu-Jens. Pneumatos is now a level 7 and a new spell, annihilate, was put in.
    • Blast-type spells are improved the more sphere levels the Wu-Jen has in the governing sphere (i.e. lightning-bolt improves the higher the Wu-Jen's level in the Air sphere).
    • Phantasm for illusionist was improved.
    • Chaosmages can no longer cast chaos actively, but will automatically chaos when near death.
    • Necromancer lich now works based on pk ranking - and finally, works at all!
    Clerics:
    • Shaolins are currently disabled for further work.
    • Preservers lost restoration but can now make healing berries.
    • Zealots had minor tweaks to coagulate and whip of pain - you will now leave a trail of blood if flayed!

    • Divine wrath for crusaders was improved.
    Fey:
    • Changelings are currently disabled for further work.
    • Unicorns were tweaked, and their heal spell made a two-phase spell.
    • Mindrip was improved for Will 'O Wisps.
    Natives:
    • Berserker prestige class is now in open beta for those that have 5000 teeth gained from slaying evil demonspawn and the like. Check the native board for more info.

    • Warriors can, however, no longer crease or fake.

    [ Player-Killing Changes ]

    • Two huge additions were made to the pk system.
    • Firstly, those who are pked become temporarily [SHAMED], which means they are forced who on, and their title is changed to show they were beaten to a pulp by a better man/woman. Players can also be gagged during their shamed period, to keep them from talking smack.
    • Secondly, Torgoch the Blood Drinker was added. Torgoch keeps track of the rank of player-killers, and can provide rewards appropriate to the rank of these players. However, his rewards come with some danger. Help pkrank.
    • Players will also be notified of the highest rank pker online when they enter Tsunami.

    • A number of hero level areas also saw a breeding frenzy.
    • Check out Tsunami Jungle for a fun new quest, and thank Aristotle for his fun maze code!
    • Sauron's gauntlet is 2 down from CoT. Check it out for xp and fun, but be ready to fight hard.
    • The new quest "The Road to Elysia" has been added. This will eventually encompass six parts and multiple large areas. Part 1 and 2 are in game, and part 2 is yet to be solved by a player - you could be the first!
    • Warcraft now has a lovely hack and slash quest attached to it.
    • The Court of Ardor, a high hero level area, was added, with a fiendishly tough quest for highbies called the Ritual of the Moon.
    • The Two Rivers area was added. Speak to the bard.
